This character is strongly inspired by the flapper subculture of the 1920s. For this project, I have researched the fashion, hairstyles, makeup trends and culture of the era to inform my design choices.
The visual style and level of detail was initially based on the Final Fantasy VII Remake (stylised proportions with more realistic texturing), which was my main stylistic reference.
This character was sculpted from scratch in ZBrush, with clothing created using Marvelous Designer and additional modeling completed in Maya and Blender. Texturing was done in Substance 3D Painter using MetaHuman skin textures as a base, which I have painted over and customised extensively. The hairstyle was created using Maya's XGen, creating the more realistic look I was aiming for while allowing it to keep a stylised silhouette. Final renders were made in Blender Cycles.
